The Jimmy R9 Pro is a countertop reverse osmosis purifier. It does not connect directly to the household water line. The R9 Pro provides ambient water, chilled water between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius, and six heated settings: 45, 55, 65, 75, 85, and 98 degrees Celsius.
In practical use, this gives me much more flexibility than a standard countertop purifier. I can dispense cold water for drinking, ambient water for cooking or bottles, and heated water for coffee, tea, or other hot drinks without using a separate kettle.
Heating takes approximately three seconds, so the hot-water function feels genuinely on demand rather than like a small boiler that needs time to warm up.

A child lock helps prevent accidental hot-water dispensing, which is essential on a machine capable of producing water at up to 98 degrees Celsius.

The Jimmy R9 Pro requires no permanent plumbing. There is no feed-water valve, drain saddle, tubing route, or dedicated faucet to install.
In my experience, the initial setup is much less intimidating than installing a traditional under-sink RO system. The machine sits on the countertop, the filters are installed inside the unit, the raw-water tank is filled, and the system connects to electricity. I took me less than 5 minutes to get everything uo and running after leaving the parts to ventilate overnight.
That makes it especially practical for renters or homeowners who do not want to modify the sink area. It also leaves the under-sink cabinet available for storage.
The system measures 381 millimeters long, 252 millimeters wide, and 367 millimeters high. It weighs approximately nine kilograms, so this is a substantial countertop appliance rather than something I would expect most people to move in and out of storage every day.
I recommend measuring the intended location carefully before buying. You need enough room for the machine itself and sufficient clearance to remove, refill, and reinstall the water tank comfortably.
The regular ownership routine involves filling the raw-water tank, cleaning the removable water-contact components, managing the reject water, and replacing the filters.
The M2S microfiber and activated-carbon composite filter lasts up to 12 months. The Q2S activated-carbon mineralized filter also lasts up to 12 months, while the RO-2.0S membrane lasts up to 24 months.
Real replacement timing depends on incoming water quality and how heavily the system is used. The onboard filter-life display makes that easier to manage because I do not have to rely entirely on calendar reminders.
Like every reverse osmosis system, the R9 Pro produces a concentrated reject-water stream. It operates at a three-to-one pure-to-drain ratio, meaning it produces up to three parts treated water for every one part directed to the reject side.
That is a strong efficiency figure compared with older or less efficient reverse osmosis systems, although the reject water still needs to be managed as part of the refill cycle.
Manual tank filling is the main (and I will say very small) tradeoff for avoiding permanent installation. I have to refill the reservoir rather than receiving unlimited purified water from a connected faucet.
Whether that feels inconvenient will depend on how much water the household uses. For moderate drinking and cooking needs, the routine is manageable. A large household consuming significant volumes of RO water may prefer a direct-connect under-sink system.
My experience with the Jimmy R9 Pro has shown that its real appeal goes beyond the filtration process.
The ability to customize both temperature and volume changes how often the machine gets used. I am not simply filling glasses of room-temperature purified water. I can choose cold water for drinking, a measured amount for a bottle, warm water when needed, or near-boiling water for tea and coffee.
That flexibility allows the R9 Pro to replace several separate appliances and routines. Instead of filtering water in one device, chilling it somewhere else, and heating it in a kettle, the machine handles those steps from one interface.
The cold-water function is especially valuable because chilled dispensing is not standard across all countertop reverse osmosis systems. On many units, purified water is available only at room temperature unless it is transferred to the refrigerator.
The six hot-water settings provide another advantage over systems that offer only a single heated option. I can select a temperature based on the drink rather than treating every hot-water task as if it requires boiling water.

It is particularly well suited to households that regularly make coffee and tea, fill bottles, drink chilled water, and use filtered water for cooking. The ability to select both temperature and dispensing volume makes it much more versatile than countertop systems that simply process and release water.
Renters are another obvious fit because the machine provides reverse osmosis treatment without requiring permanent plumbing or sink modifications.
It also makes sense for offices, smaller homes, and kitchens where there is not enough under-sink space for a conventional RO system and storage tank.
The R9 Pro is ideal for buyers who value convenience but do not want to sacrifice the treatment strength of reverse osmosis. Its hot-and-cold functionality is not merely decorative. During hands-on use, it meaningfully changes how the machine fits into the daily routine.
A basic carbon pitcher is more appropriate when the only objective is improving chlorine taste or odor at the lowest possible cost. The R9 Pro offers much more treatment and functionality, but that added capability may be unnecessary for very light filtration needs.
Anyone dealing with hard-water scale throughout the home needs a softener or scale-control system instead. A whole-house filter is the better category when the water problem appears at every tap, shower, or appliance.
A large household that wants continuous purified water without filling a reservoir may also prefer a direct-connect under-sink RO system.
Having tested the Jimmy R9 Pro hands-on, I think its biggest strength is the way it combines serious countertop reverse osmosis treatment with unusually flexible dispensing.
Other countertop RO systems may filter water effectively, but the R9 Pro stands out because I can easily choose the drink volume, dispense genuinely cold water, and select from several hot-water temperatures without waiting for a kettle.
That makes it feel less like a purifier I use occasionally and more like a central kitchen appliance. It handles drinking water, bottles, coffee, tea, and cooking from the same countertop setup.
The multi-stage treatment process also gives the convenience features a strong foundation. Pre-filtration, a 0.0001-micron RO membrane, post-carbon mineralized filtration, and UV treatment make it substantially more capable than a basic pitcher or light carbon dispenser.
It still requires counter space, electricity, filter replacements, and regular tank filling. Those ownership requirements should be weighed against the simplicity of avoiding permanent plumbing.
For renters, offices, smaller kitchens, and households that want reverse osmosis alongside customizable hot, cold, and measured water dispensing, the Jimmy R9 Pro is absolutely one of the countertop systems I would place high on the shortlist.
